Turned aside his offer | 6 |
to walk me to my car | 7 |

tightly for a moment of farewell. | 9 |

I didn't stop to put on | 10 |
my strappy heels, | 11 |
carried them and warming lotion | 12 |
in my hands, | 13 |
stepping barefooted | 14 |
on cool damp pavement, | 15 |
the tang of salt air | 16 |
whispering curls | 17 |
into my hair. | 18 |

I realized that life | 20 |

love and loss | 23 |

this amazing, i like it a lot , almost as much as i like icecream.

Beautiful, melancholy, but not bitterly so. I slipped so easily into this scene and, now, I'm missing the ocean (among other things).

I love lines 6-9. Both the lovers tease each other, or reject, however you see it. A nice little duality of "love and loss."

Absolutely Beautiful. Lines 2-5 tie in so perfectly to lines 20-23. All else in between is just a beautiful memory. Love it. Re; the warming lotion, I don't think it makes you sound slutty, but it doesn't bode well for your partner at the time if you needed it... :)
