fractalcore

I’ve learned
 1
to brush my teeth
 2
today –
 3
the right way –
 4
isn’t that a feat?
 5

used to use
 6
that handled bristled
 7
toilet ring thing,
 8
yaknow.
 9

[oh, some corrosives
 10
would’ve made a good go
 11
in my mouth, cleansed
 12
the cavity of offensives.]
 13

      thank you, man.
 14

two years plus/minus
 15
of cleaning clogged toilets
 16
in the company –
 17

  yours, matter-of-factly.
 18

I wasn’t two but
 19
one, logging in and out at
 20
the unprescribed time
 21

              while
 22
              cubes
 23
              lined
 24
                 a
 25
                 l
 26
                 a
 27
                 r
 28
                 m
 29
                 e
 30
                 d
 31
               and
 32
             golden
 33
          submarines
 34
         swam waiting
 35
     for critical scrutiny
 36
     and careful picking.
 37

but you did notice,
 38
then introduce me
 39
to this place, this:
 40

                    an else-where,
 41
                    an other-kind
 42
                    of hand-mind
 43
                    b u s y n e s s
 44

taunting
 45
every part of
 46
my meta-
 47
and physical
 48
being,
 49
exposing
 50
my humanity
 51
at the conclusion
 52
of every rendition:
 53

mode-darn o’er
 54
contempt-pooer-airy.
 55

    [man, you kick ass!]
 56

here where toilets get writ
 57
by poo-wets – even licked
 58
by their torrid tongues,
 59
ass asking for more of the
 60
                          slap-slangs
 61

from kindred
 62
kindergarten blues
 63
buddies.
 64

      …so here I OM…
 65
    speaking the voice
 66
          of my own.
 67

emulating your minimalist
 68
and/or grandiose style:
 69
on top of my to-do list,
 70
will take – to learn – a while.
 71

this, here, my sojourn,
 72
will have to be short-lived –
 73
ungloved hands shall return
 74
there, itching to be dirtied
 75

              again
 76

to relearn
 77
the homegrown world-class
 78
art of making sense
 79
while brushing teeth and –
 80
to unlearn
 81

                it –
 82

            here I go
 83

              again.

this is modern poetry, for the structure, the word play, lack of rhyme, emotional value.. at a point sounds like a poets' society.
These lines i love best:
"an else-where,
an other-kind
of hand-mind
b u s y n e s s"
I think it expresses very well and deeply your admiration for the poet and love for a friend
 — nisetru

thank you so much, nisetru.
he's quite a guy. played the
blues harp real long after 10
years of dormancy; hurt
his throat for weeks; and then
couldn't swallow some soup
which he thought was badly
cooked.

oh yeah, he has impeccable
taste and is a real good artist.

 — fractalcore

i hope ||22-37 gave a good picture
of a toilet bowl pump.

Didn't like the word grandiose...sori...but the poem is actually good.
 — happymole

sori=sorry
 — happymole

thank you so much, happymole.
why, what's wrong with "grandiose"?
: )
 — fractalcore

what is the deal with nisetru and fractalcore? are they lovers? or the same persona?
 — unknown

happy hearts' day, happymole.

unknown, to you as well.
: )
 — fractalcore

grandiose just didn't seem to fit in
 — happymole

what do you suggest would?
: )
 — fractalcore

I don't want to give any suggestion...it will no longer be your piece if others will change the word(s) that you use.
 — happymole

i guess the term shall stay then.

 — fractalcore

very cool .  I almost enjoyed reading this but certainly do admire the style- i mean the way it looks on the bowl.
 — DeformedLion

glad you liked it, DeformedLion.
it's voodoo soup in the bowl.
: )
 — fractalcore

ever tasted a voodoo soup?
 — happymole

missing a d in l39.

nice poem.

v.
 — unknown

happymole: no, i haven't tasted any voodoo soup
but i do have Jimi Hendrix's Voodoo Soup posthumous
album which sounds really good.

varun: thanks for stopping by. i think the 'did' in |38
affects the tense of the verb in the following line.
: )
 — fractalcore

very cool. your friend should be honoured.
 — unknown

unknown, i hope so.
thanks for reading.

 — fractalcore
