| Breath of a Salesman. |

|
My eyes stroll about the room, | 1 |
light from the window glaring, destroying all chance | 2 |
of viewing the vast expanse of beauty; | 3 |
Nature’s smile at me. | 4 |
| |
Surrounded by buildings, Willy cried | 5 |
out, "You have to break your neck | 6 |
just to catch a view of a star out here | 7 |
nowadays..." | 8 |
| |
My ears sense the sounds seeping through the wall; | 9 |
malicious words; they mock me. | 10 |
They all believe there’s something wrong | 11 |
with who and how I am. | 12 |
| |
“I heard what you said!” Willy shouted to Biff. | 13 |
“Who laughs at me, who?” | 14 |
“Oh, you know I didn’t mean it like that, Dad." | 15 |
No words were ever so hurtful. | 16 |
| |
My mind sprints through all possible options... | 17 |
There’s no way to get ahead, and | 18 |
I’m beginning to get desperate... | 19 |
I’m beginning to get very desperate. | 20 |
| |
“It’s an amazing proposition...” | 21 |
“What a remarkable thing.” | 22 |
The last thing the family heard was | 23 |
Willy’s car pulling away, and a crash. | 24 |
| |
Back into my English classroom, | 25 |
I hear the complaints, the hates; | 26 |
the fear of culture and lack of relation; | 27 |
"You can't relate?" I ask. | 28 |
| |
"I’ve never related so well in all my life." | 29 |
