comfort in the night

i see you peekin'
out from under
your thick satin
blanket;  a sleepy
yawn to acknowledge
your awake for work.
its time to rise
and brighten
the night sky
through the frosted
november air
the warm smile
i see most nights
makes me feel
that everything
will be all right
when i'm alone
with you i can
close my eyes
and catch up
on my sleep
as long as your
looking over me,
my friend, this life
will work out
just fine.
