Or simply spend more than 4 seconds thinking about it.
 — unknown

hahahahaha

...it made ME laugh!
 — imissyou

I think its alright, though a bit below your normal ability Norm. Theres not a ton to comment on really, its just a single thought. I like the form for some reason though, it almost looks like a scroll would to me. Also, these kids are retarded with saying its not a poem. They wouldnt know poetry in the first place. And lastly:

I WOULD LIKE

A CAPPUCINO

.                  .
 — unknown

google called.  he wants to know,
"Did you mean: CAPPUCCINO"

of course, in your haste to discredit a tiny poem, you em-bareass yourself.
why does this little thing threaten you so?
it must be a poem.
 — unknown

If you think it's a poem - then you think it's a poem.
If I think it's not a poem - then I think it's not a poem.
If AL CAPPUCINO thinks it's a cup of coffee - then it's a cup of coffee.

Poems are words - 2 words, 3 words, 38760 words - the space around the words is poetry - poetry is any writing that does not go right to the end of the page.
Closed minds.

Hey Man

This is the coolest poem ever .It strikes a blow for the right to remain an individual in the face of the heavy handed control of the intellectual elite who want every one to see things the way they do and if we do that we've become enbourgeoised. The world is a fantastic and wonderful place but we all have the right to interpret it in our own unique way without a load of closed minded Billy no mates telling us what constitutes poetry. So come on guys acknowledge greatness when it comes among you. If you require further information on the insidious effects of conforming to the values of the cultural elite don't come to me as i earn 1,000,000 dollars a year by simply agreeing with them.
 — unknown

hmmm i have to say this is good. NOT!
 — unknown

please dont make me spell it out.
 — gnormal

it's hard to believe. noone seems to be picking up on the duality of the poem. do you all still think this poem is saying "i don't want enlightenment?! is the word cappuccino defined by "i do not want"?

The Buddha, having attained Buddhahood, immediately dismissed this acheivement. This way of no-mind (mushin) is not adequately dressed in desire.
 — SimpleMind

I get the point of this, and I don't want any of it either, whoever you are.
 — pennylane

Yes, it's you. I love you as well gnormal. I so want you.
 — pennylane

I enjoyed it.
 — CrimsonStorm

I worte your name in the sky but the wind blew it away,
I wrote your name in the sand, but the waves washe dit away.
I wrote your name in my heart, and forever it will stay.

it's ironic amongst other things.

the act of saying i do not want enlightenment means you're enlightened.

it's also a word play: enlightenment versus darkness/death. I.e.. i want the lights switched off, to die (or do not)

and the Buddhist angle, the renaissance angle. the enlightenment era. etc.

you could probably push it as far as you wanted to. and pushing it would certainly enlighten a few of the commenters here.

I like it. Two lines can be a poem, no matter how little words you use. From this, people can draw any meaning they want, or none at all as I see some have. :-/
 — Cinder

Why don't you want enlightenment? Is there a reason or are you just trying to be a smartass by posting this?
 — Darkfollower

nice.
these comments are better than the piece!
 — unknown

why dont you want to follow the light?  Is there a reason or are you just trying to be a smartass by calling yourself "Darkfollower"?

Well for 1: I am a Satanist, 2: I have been using this username for years so why change it now, and 3: go blow a fucking goat, it's not even a fucking poem, its like a black dot on a piece of white paper, you can assume what it is supposed to mean, but in reality it just a dot on a paper, it doest mean a thing.
 — Darkfollower

ack!  how did garth brooks get in here?

Am I the only one who notices that the words are contained in a "box" - thus, the speaker is saying s/he does not WANT enlightenment, which does require thinking OUTSIDE of the box?

Now that's genius.  I'm loving it.
 — LauraLea2

i think its gud.. may just be me.. but it has a deeper meaning.  Simple and good. I like
 — unknown
