United in memory

The Scala Kid ventured in 92
all night cinema at King's  Cross -
but we had everything trim then,
Somehow the road was
not  laid with dust
and we had our thrills -
contesting Granada's windows
with the latest  Saturday nil- nil scores
and greasy spoons with mugs of tea
to wash away the lived  in sense of invincibility.
K6 Telephone  boxes  where we could  dictate
our own order of play instead of today's 24/7
