of the matriarchy,

not one had raised a child

i wonder, then,

when it was they started saying

"no,

she is the prettier,

much more charming version of Her”

to fool me into

an apologetic arranged marriage

with the sins of my mother

and when they bit at me like rabid dogs, i ran

but

they were no mothers of mine
