I own this spotlight
 1
and the electricity
 2
combing the hairs straight up
 3
my neck
 4
and the melody,
 5
accompanying.
 6

I fear for my safety
 7
in written word-
 8
for dancing on the strength
 9
of verbs
 10
isn't found in adjectives,
 11
but being stark
 12
naked,
 13
exposed to the elements
 14
of audience.
 15

they ooo
 16
ahh
 17
and boo
 18

and, more importantly,
 19
they scroll on by
 20
with flicks of thumb
 21
and index finger.
 22

do I give up ownership
 23
with questions?
 24
is my punctuation,
 25
purposely placed
 26
to perfect the pace,
 27
ever noticed?
 28

each line I
 29
am a guide
 30
with no voice
 31
but that which is
 32
the mind of the reader.
 33

dancing, dancing
 34
to music unheard,
 35
every syllable
 36
is lost with every
 37
paranoid tap:
 38

am I a writer?
 39
am I a poet?
 40
has the climate
 41
weathered my thick skin
 42
thinner?
 43
have I proven myself
 44
worthy?

Peace to you.

Keep going and do more good things, and be patient. I once write like this.
