Dinner Time Musings

The rolling pin prances
with kneaded dough underfoot,
to circle chapatis
like radiant full moons on marble,
only to be freckled in bronze
on flaming gas tops~
ballooned with conceit
and hot air.
The diced onions
are fried golden as summery days,
minced ginger and garlic
blending in euphoria of spices
like a lost thought of melancholy,
tomatoes mushy like
a lover's words make brew blush
and simmering as passion, chicken gravy
is sprinkled in salt of banter~
they are a dinner on my platter
to quench hunger of a poetic stomach...
