this is your gun
load, aim, fire,
what you’ll do
thought, focus, ire,
in times of war
one does what one’s desire

this is your rage
fuel, yearn, shame,
when ripped open
all fear the same,
in times of war
fortitude some to other’s pyre

this is your love
hold, hide, aspire,
that long metal barrel
why aim, dire,
in times of war
love employs no hire

this is your enemy
fear, fate, liar,
despite the messages
we’re all projecting to a slyer,
in times of war
one kills what one’s transpired
